Today we are gathered here to commemorate. We commemorate civilians and service members—who have lost their lives in the Kingdom of the Netherlands or anywhere else in the world since the outbreak of World War II, in combat situations and during peacekeeping operations.

To help residents sort their waste, Avri conducted a pilot program in Beneden-Leeuwen. They inspected the containers for plastic, metal, and beverage cartons (PMD) and provided residents with additional guidance when necessary.

No less than 13 residents from the municipality of West Maas en Waal received a Royal Decoration on Friday, April 25, for their exceptional contributions to society. Mayor Van Neerbos surprised them that morning during the annual Royal Decorations ceremony.

Last Saturday, the 'polderjutters' (formerly 'Maas- en Waaljutters') cleaned the inland area of the municipality of West Maas en Waal for the second year in a row. On this sunny day, 13 associations collected no less than 300 kilograms of litter.

During the tile exchange campaign by the municipality of West Maas en Waal, no fewer than 143 households exchanged 560 m² of garden tiles for plants and shrubs.

The College of Mayor and Aldermen of West Maas en Waal is rewarding six new ideas from residents (groups) with a maximum of € 750. They receive this one-time contribution for improving liveability or self-reliance.

All seven Village Platforms in the municipality of West Maas en Waal have launched a new website.

At the pilot location designated by the Municipality of West Maas en Waal in Beneden-Leeuwen, the realization of a temporary Youth Meeting Place (JOP) will start this spring. In Dreumel, the JOP at De Donjon will not proceed for now.

On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, the Digi-Taalhuis will host an evening event at MFA De Rosmolen focusing on the Maos and Waolse regional dialects.

From April 1 through the end of June, Berty Lamers will be exhibiting her work at the Beneden-Leeuwen town hall.
