Registration of the name of a new political party

This is an old post.

If you would like to run in the municipal elections with a new political party, you can register the party. The deadline for registration is December 22, 2025.
To do so, please make an appointment with our Customer Contact Center by calling 14 0487. Or send an email to verkiezingen@westmaasenwaal.nl.

The form you need to fill out for registration:

Required documents 

Please attach the following documents to the completed form above: 

  • a copy of the notarial deed containing the political party’s articles of incorporation;
  • a certificate of registration in the commercial register issued by the Chamber of Commerce;
  • proof of payment of the security deposit of €225.00
    • payment to IBAN NL44 BNGH 0285 0091 33
      to the attention of the Municipality of West Maas en Waal
      subject: Registration political party;
  • a statement from the political party listing the names of the person authorized to act on behalf of the political party and that person’s alternate.

The deposit will be refunded if the political party submits a valid list of candidates for the upcoming election.

Review of the request

The municipality’s central election committee will decide whether the request can be granted.
You will receive a response to your request within 4 weeks.
Once registered, the registered name will appear at the top of the list of candidates and on the ballot.
