Get a barrel with a voucher!

The municipality of West Maas en Waal wants to encourage residents to collect rainwater using a rain barrel. This will save drinking water and help make the municipality more resilient. In collaboration with the GroenRijk Beneden-Leeuwen garden center, the municipality is offering residents an attractive discount: with a voucher, they can buy a rain barrel for only €50. Normally, this rain barrel costs €109.99.

Good for the climate and your wallet

A rain barrel is an easy and sustainable way to collect water. It allows residents to water their gardens with rainwater instead of tap water. This saves drinking water and reduces the burden on the sewer system during heavy rainfall. Storing water is also useful during dry periods.

Alderman Evert Jan Slootweg emphasizes the importance of this campaign:
"With a rain barrel, we can work together to improve our living environment. You can help save water and prevent flooding. I am pleased that we can do this together with GroenRijk Beneden-Leeuwen. This collaboration makes it easier for residents to contribute to a greener and more climate-resistant West Maas en Waal."

How does the promotion work?

Residents of West Maas en Waal can apply for a voucher via the municipality's website from November 10. The voucher can be collected from the town hall between November 24 and December 24. With this voucher, residents can purchase a 200-liter rain barrel from GroenRijk Beneden-Leeuwen for just €50. The rain barrel can be purchased until December 29, 2025.
