Frequently asked questions Housing requests, Intake and neighborhood table
Until when will you not be accepting new housing applications?
We will not be accepting any new housing applications until January 1, 2027.
This measure will help us to first properly process the current housing construction requests and review housing policy.
Are there any exceptions to not processing housing applications?
Yes. The decision not to process applications only applies to new requests for housing construction.
We will continue to process requests for recreation, commercial activities, or the repurposing of vacant agricultural buildings (VAB), for example.
More information can be found at Extension of temporary halt on new housing applications.
Can I object to housing applications not being processed?
No. This is not a decision in the legal sense. You cannot therefore object to it.
What exactly is the intake table?
The intake table is an internal consultation within the municipality.
Here we discuss whether a request fits within the policy and whether it is desirable. Only requests that we consider desirable may be further elaborated and, if necessary, discussed at the environmental table.
What exactly is the environmental table?
The environmental committee is a consultative body comprising advisors from the municipality and other organizations such as the Rivierenland Water Authority and the Rivierenland Environmental Agency. Together, they assess whether your request is feasible and whether it fits in well with the environment.
Do I have to pay for the assessment of my request?
Yes. You pay fees for both the intake and the environmental table:
- Intake table: €512.50 (2026)
- Environment table: €4,676.75 (2026)
Do I need to submit a request before I can apply for a permit?
Yes. For complex requests, it is important that you first submit a request. This allows us to assess whether your request is likely to be successful. Only then will the formal application follow.
Can I discuss my request directly at the environmental table?
No. We first discuss every request at the intake table. There, we assess whether your request is desirable and whether it can be further elaborated. Only then, if necessary, can it be discussed at the environmental table. Therefore, you cannot submit a request directly to the environmental table.
How do I know if my request is simple or complex?
We will assess this after you have submitted your request. Among other things, we will consider the consequences for public space, policy, and procedures.
