Placing an object on or by the road
What is it?
- You may not simply use the road, the sidewalk, or any part thereof—for example, to place scaffolding, a dumpster, construction materials, or a billboard.
- If you still wish to do so, you must apply for an exemption from the municipality.
What should I do?
You can check whether you need an environmental permit via the Omgevingsloket website at .
You then apply for the exemption with the municipality. Include the following information in your application:
- why you want to place the object on or by the road
- the location where the object will be placed
- the size of the object
- when and for how long you want to display the item
If you want to place a structure for the storage of personal property, you may need an environmental permit. For example, if you place a container for the temporary storage of debris or building materials during a renovation.
