Theme: Recreation and Tourism Incentive Fund
The theme of the Recreation and Tourism Incentive Fund, titled "Strengthening existing and promoting new tourism and recreational offerings," is aimed at attracting and better serving the Flemish and German markets.
The initiative must include one of the following options:
- Marketing and promotional initiatives that help increase the visibility of recreational offerings for international tourists. The POIsLand van Maas en Waal, Hanzestad Maasbommel the Gouden Ham recreational area are mandatory components of these promotional efforts.
- General initiatives that help increase the number of marketing activities targeting both the domestic market (i.e., outside the region) and the local market. The POIsLand van Maas en Waal, Hanzestad Maasbommel the Gouden Ham recreational area are mandatory components of these promotional efforts.
Sample projects:
- Option 1: Multilingual websites and other promotional materials.
- Option 2: Joint promotional campaigns for new initiatives (online and/or offline) that (also) prominently feature the Land van Maas en Waal, the Hanseatic city Maasbommel the Gouden Ham recreational area.
Requirements the application must meet:
The grant is awarded to projects that:
- to give an (economic) boost to the chosen theme in the field of leisure economy within West Maas en Waal; and
- have added value for West Maas en Waal, which means there is a reasonable chance that the project will generate more income or profit, to be demonstrated by means of a financial overview. Or which means that the quality of recreation within the municipality of West Maas en Waal will be improved.
The initiative arising from the above theme is subject to a number of Requirements:
- The initiative must contribute to the leisure economy in West Maas en Waal;
- The initiative must include a detailed plan for one of the two options listed above. The initiative must be submitted using the online application form for the Recreation and Tourism Platform (PRET) grant;
- Upon allocation of a contribution, the municipality of West Maas en Waal must be named as a partner of the initiative (through mention and/or display of the municipal coat of arms);
- The incentive grant covers up to 50% of the costs incurred;
- The incentive grant will amount to a maximum of €2,500, provided that the available budget of the Recreation and Tourism Incentive Fund is sufficient;
- An applicant may apply to the Fund once per theme;
- In addition to the above Requirements, the ´Regulation on Contributions from the Recreation and Tourism Fund of the municipality of West Maas en Waal applies, including Article 8.8:
When allocating, the diversity of applications will be taken into account.
The application must be submitted via the online form before the end of each quarter so that it can be considered at the Platform’s next meeting;
- Before April 1;
- Before July 1;
- Before October 1;
- Before January 1.
