How do I submit a new application?

On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., you can visit our student transportation department in the Dreumelse room of the town hall, Dijkstraat 11, Beneden-Leeuwen.

You can also contact the Digital Government Information Point at the Rivierenland Library in MFA De Rosmolen, Leliestraat 19 in Beneden-Leeuwen. 

I have submitted an application. When will I hear from the municipality?

  • After you have submitted your application, you will immediately receive a confirmation of receipt by email.
  • If we require additional documents, we will inform you as soon as possible. 
  • If we do not require any additional documents, you will receive our decision within a maximum of 8 weeks.
     

How do I know if my application has been submitted correctly?

After you have submitted an application, you will immediately receive confirmation by email. Your application has then been successfully submitted. 

I have not received confirmation after submitting an application. What should I do?

  • Check whether the confirmation has been delivered to your "junk mail" or "spam" folder. 
  • Not received there either? Then you will need to resubmit the application.
     

When I submit a student transportation request for the first time, what documents do I need to include?

  • You do not need to send any documents when submitting your application.
  • If additional documents are required, you will receive a request to provide them by email or telephone. 
  • If we do not require any additional documents, you will automatically receive our decision within a maximum of eight weeks.
     

My child already has school transportation. Do I need to submit a new application for the coming school year?

If I have already submitted an application for student transportation, do I need to send all the attachments again?

  • If any additional attachments are required, you will automatically receive a request to provide them by email or telephone. You do not need to contact us about this yourself. 
  • If we do not require any (additional) attachments, you will automatically receive our decision within a maximum of eight weeks.

My child lives with both me and my ex-partner (joint custody). Who should submit the application?

  • Parents must submit an application to the municipality where they live for the days that the child stays with them. 
  • If both parents/guardians live in the municipality of West Maas en Waal, submitting one application is sufficient. 
  • The accommodation schedule must be clearly described in the application.
  • Only the parent submitting the application will receive the decision from us.
     

What should I do if we move?

  • If you are moving within the municipality of West Maas en Waal, please submit a new application via www.westmaasenwaal.nl/leerlingenvervoer.
  • If you are moving to another municipality, you can apply for school transport in that municipality. Please let us know when school transport in our municipality can be discontinued.

What should I do if my child attends a different school?

You must then submit a new application.

What should I do if my child's school is moving?

You must then submit a new application.

What should I do if I want to apply for a different facility for my child?

You must then submit a new application.

The student transportation department will contact you if necessary to request additional information.

What should I do if my child is going to do an internship?

  • If you have a student transportation decision, you must submit a new application.
  • On the form, indicate that you have a student transportation permit and then select "internship."
  • Please attach an internship plan and a fully completed internship contract.
     

What should I do if I want to report other changes?

  • Requests for other structural changes can be submitted in writing and well in advance of the effective date by email to westmaasenwaal.llv@forseti.nl.
  • In your request, clearly describe what is changing and when this should take effect.
  • We assess whether the change falls within the scope of student transportation.
    Requests to occasionally drive at different times, for example during exam weeks, do not fall within this scope. These requests will therefore be rejected. 
  • You may be required to answer additional questions, submit additional documents, or submit a new application.
     

What should I do if student transportation is no longer needed?

My child is wheelchair-bound during transport. What should I pay attention to?

  • It is mandatory to have an ISO-certified wheelchair in order to travel by taxi (bus). 
  • A certified wheelchair can be recognized by the sticker with the hook symbol.
  • Your child may only be transported in the wheelchair if the wheelchair has this sticker. Does the wheelchair not have this sticker? Then your child may not be transported and cannot therefore travel on school transport.
