How do I submit a new application?

Where can I get help filling out the online application form?

If you'd like, we can help you fill out the application form.

On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., please visit our school transportation department in the Dreumelse Room at City Hall, located at 11 Dijkstraat in Beneden-Leeuwen.

You can also contact the Digital Government Information Center ( ) at the Rivierenland Library in MFA De Rosmolen, located at 19 Leliestraat in Beneden-Leeuwen. 

I have submitted an application. When will I hear back from the city?

  • Once you have submitted the application, you will immediately receive a confirmation of receipt via email.
  • If we need any additional documents, we will let you know as soon as possible. 
  • If we do not require any additional documents, you will receive our decision within 8 weeks at the latest.
     

How do I know if my application was submitted successfully?

Once you have submitted your request, you will immediately receive a confirmation via email. Your request has been successfully submitted. 

I didn't receive a confirmation after submitting my request. What should I do?

  • Check to see if the confirmation email ended up in your "Junk" or "Spam" folder. 
  • Didn't receive it there either? Then you'll need to resubmit the application
     

When I submit an application for student transportation for the first time, what documents do I need to include?

  • You do not need to include any documents when you submit the application.
  • If any additional documents are required, you will be asked to provide them via email or by phone. 
  • If we do not require any additional documents, you will automatically receive our decision within eight weeks.
     

My child already receives school transportation. Do I need to submit a new application for the coming school year?

If I have already submitted an application for student transportation, do I need to resubmit all the supporting documents?

  • If any (additional) attachments are required, you will automatically receive a request via email or phone to submit them. Therefore, you do not need to contact us about this. 
  • If we do not require any (additional) supporting documents, you will automatically receive our decision within eight weeks.

My child lives with both me and my ex-partner (joint custody). Who should submit the application?

  • Parents must submit an application to the municipality where they live for the days the child is staying with them. 
  • If both parents/guardians live in the municipality of West Maas en Waal, then submitting one application is sufficient. 
  • The itinerary must be clearly described in the application.
  • Only the parent who submits the application will receive the decision from us.
     

What should I do if we're moving?

  • If you move within the municipality of West Maas en Waal, please submit a new application via www.westmaasenwaal.nl/leerlingenvervoer
  • If you are moving to another municipality, you can apply for school transportation there. Please let us know when school transportation in our municipality can be discontinued.

What should I do if my child is transferring to a different school?

You will then need to submit a new application.

What should I do if my child's school is moving?

You will then need to submit a new application.

What should I do if I want to apply for a different service for my child?

You will then need to submit a new application.

The school transportation department will contact you if necessary to request additional information.

What should I do if my child is going to do an internship?

  • If you have a school transportation order, you must submit a new application.
  • On the form, indicate that you have a student transportation authorization and then select “internship.”
  • Please attach an internship plan and a fully completed internship contract.
     

What should I do if I want to report other changes?

  • Requests for other structural changes may be submitted in writing via email to westmaasenwaal.llv@forseti.nl well in advance of the effective date.
  • In your request, please clearly describe what is changing and when these changes should take effect.
  • We will determine whether the change falls within the scope of school transportation.
    Requests to occasionally operate at different times, for example during exam week, do not fall within this scope under any circumstances. These requests will therefore be denied. 
  • You may need to answer additional questions, submit additional documents, or file a new application
     

What should I do when school transportation is no longer needed?

My child uses a wheelchair during transport. What should I keep in mind?

  • You must have an ISO-certified wheelchair to travel by taxi (or bus). 
  • A certified wheelchair can be identified by the sticker featuring the anchor symbol.
  • Your child may only be transported in a wheelchair if the wheelchair has this sticker. If the wheelchair does not have this sticker, your child may not be transported and therefore cannot ride the school bus.

If you have any questions about the wheelchair’s certification, please contact the wheelchair supplier.
