Requesting information from the municipality, Open Government Act (Woo)

What is it?

The Open Government Act (Woo) states that everyone has the right to access government information. For example, you have the right to information about municipal policy and decisions. The municipality informs its residents about this via press releases, door-to-door newspapers, or its website.

If you would like information that has not been published, you can ask the municipality to disclose this information by submitting a Woo request. If the municipality decides to disclose the requested information, it will send it to you.

The Woo replaces the Government Information (Public Access) Act (Wob).

You will receive a response to your request within four weeks. The municipality may extend this period by two weeks. If your request is very extensive, a different period may be agreed with you.
