Installing an antenna or satellite dish
What is it?
If you want to install an antenna or satellite dish, you may need to obtain an environmental permit from the municipality. Check the Omgevingsloket websiteat to see if this applies to you.

The Omgevingsdienst Rivierenland (ODR) carries out construction and environmental tasks for the municipality of West Maas en Waal. For questions about the environmental permit, you can contact them.
How does it work?
You do not need to apply for an environmental permit if you meet the following Requirements:
- Install the antenna on the back of your house.
- If you install an antenna on the front of your house, it will remain behind the facade.
- The satellite dish is no more than 3 meters high (measured from the base). Its diameter is no more than 2 meters.
- Another antenna is no more than 5 meters high (measured from the base). If this antenna is mounted on the facade, measure from the point where the antenna (including the antenna mount) intersects the roof.

- If you need a permit, you can submit your application online right away.
No permit, but rules apply
Even if you don’t need a permit to install a satellite dish, you may still have to comply with other regulations. These include health and safety regulations for construction and the provisions of the local environmental plan.

How long does it take?
You will hear from us within 8 weeks. The municipality may extend this period by 6 weeks. Sometimes we need advice and approval from another organization (competent authority). In that case, an additional 4 weeks will be added.
