I want to put up a notice board
You are not allowed to simply place an announcement board on or along a public road, for example to announce an event or express your thoughts or feelings. If you still want to place an announcement board, you must request permission from the municipality.
There are conditions attached to placing an announcement board:
- A maximum of 20 signs may be placed in the municipality and a maximum of 14 days before the event.
- All instructions from police officers and municipal services must be followed immediately.
- The signs may not be attached to buildings or structures in any way.
- No signs may be attached to trees or traffic light poles. Signs may only be attached to steel and aluminum poles. Traffic and street signs must remain sufficiently visible.
- The signs must be placed at least 30 cm from the edge of the roadway or bicycle path in all circumstances.
- For traffic safety reasons, it is not permitted to place signs at road intersections, within 30 meters of a corner, or within 30 meters of a pedestrian or bicycle crossing.
- The placement of the signs must not compromise traffic safety.
- The signs must be removed immediately after the permit period has expired.
- If the signs have not been removed, this will be done at the applicant's expense.

How does it work?
The municipality determines whether you will be granted permission. It considers the following:
- Is normal use of the road possible?
- Is the safety of pedestrians and other traffic at risk?
- Is there any nuisance for local residents?
- Will it spoil the streetscape?
Please note! The municipality may refuse commercial advertising texts on signs.
What should I do?
You must apply for permission from the municipality. Include the following information in your application:
- why you want to put up the notice board
- where you want to place the notice board
- when and for how long you place the announcement board
- how big the announcement board is
- a drawing or a photo of the announcement board
How long will it take?
You will hear within 8 weeks whether you will be granted permission.
Additional information
The municipality may require that your notice board be wind and/or air permeable. Please also note the following:
- Make sure you secure the notice board properly.
- Make sure you do not cause damage to trees, walls, or lampposts.
- Ensure that the notice board is weatherproof.
