By 2030, West Maas en Waal West Maas en Waal West Maas en Waal will be West Maas en Waal as an attractive place to live. This is one of our 15 priorities from the 2030 Quality of Life Vision.

Through the Housing Vision, the municipality West Maas en Waal De Kernen are pursuing a number of goals:

  1. Housing Vision as a Building Block for the Environmental Vision for Rural Areas:
In 2022, we will begin the (follow-up) process for the West Maas en Waal Environmental Vision. The Environmental Vision for Rural Areas forms the basis for this. We are expanding this vision to include other types of areas (including villages) and further developing other themes that are important for the physical living environment. The Housing Vision describes the vision for housing in the town centers and thus serves as an important building block for the Environmental Vision.
  2. A practical foundation for policy implementation:
The Housing Vision serves as the basis for plans submitted by project proponents related to housing in West Maas en Waal. They are asked to take the municipality’s policy principles into account. For the municipality, the Housing Vision serves as the basis for evaluating plans that do not directly fit within the parameters of the zoning plan or the environmental plan.
  3. Links to other policy areas:
A good living environment depends on more than just the home and its surroundings. It is therefore important to collaborate and establish links with various policy areas: an integrated approach.
  4. Collaborative management:
The Housing Vision serves as the framework for performance agreements with De Kernen and the tenants' organization.
