Alderman Ton de Vree will step down on December 1, 2020.

This is an old message.

Alderman Ton de Vree has decided to step down as alderman of the municipality of West Maas en Waal on December 1. He has been active in politics for 18 years, the first 12 as a council member and then as an alderman. It is not yet known who will succeed Ton de Vree.

Alderman Ton de Vree is responsible for finance, sustainability, the environment, sports, culture, and accommodation policy.

"A difficult but well-considered decision," said Alderman Ton de Vree. "I've noticed lately that the balance between my work and private life is no longer in equilibrium. That means it's time to make other choices," the alderman explained.

Proud of what we have achieved together

“I look back with fondness on my 18 years as a representative and administrator in this wonderful municipality. I am proud of what we have achieved together. The solidarity and commitment of residents to the municipality have always been evident to me. Together with employees, council members, and councilors, we have built a stable municipality. It has been a wonderful time in which I have been able to contribute to the quality of life in the villages," said Ton de Vree.
