West Maas en Waal rewards liveability
The Mayor and Aldermen of West Maas en Waal reward six new ideas from residents (groups). Each with a maximum of € 750. They receive this one-time contribution because their new ideas improve liveability or self-reliance.
These activities include:
- De Grote Gemeente Wamel Petting Zoo
A festive Young Animals Day at the petting zoo in Wamel; - L.R. and P.C. De Vier Heemskinderen
Ride & Run and/or Drive & Bike – A rider and a runner, or a driver and a mountain biker, follow a route together; - Wamel Orange Committee Foundation
Two film screenings at the VTC for all ages; - Sociom
Photo contest for all ages;
Social Cohesion Working Group; Maasbommel Village Brunch;- Jolanda van den Bergh, Emmie Nuijen, and Jan van den Berg
Exploration of the Dreumelse Waard.
The municipality is pleased to see an increase in the number of applications. Eight applications were rejected. They did not fully meet the (sub)objectives. In particular, the involvement of vulnerable residents in the initiatives is an area that could be better addressed in the applications.
On June 14, Alderman Reuvers presented the award certificates to the six winning project leaders. The ceremony took place at City Hall.
