West Maas en Waal rewards quality of life
The mayor and aldermen of West Maas en Waal are rewarding six new ideas from residents (or groups of residents), each with a maximum of €750. They are receiving this one-off contribution because their new ideas improve quality of life or community spirit.
The following activities are involved:
- De Grote Gemeente Wamel Children's Farm
Festive Young Animal Day at the children's farm in Wamel; - L.R. and P.C. De Vier Heemskinderen
Ride & Run and/or Drive & Bike - Rider together with runner or Driver together with mountain biker follow a route together; - Oranjecomité Wamel Foundation
Two film screenings at the VTC for young and old; - Sociom
Photo contest for young and old;
Social Cohesion Working Group Maasbommel Village Brunch;- Jolanda van den Bergh, Emmie Nuijen, and Jan van den Berg
Discovery tour of Dreumelse Waard.
The municipality is pleased with the increasing number of applications. Eight applications were rejected. They did not meet the (sub)objectives sufficiently or at all. In particular, involving vulnerable residents in the initiatives is something that could be better elaborated in the applications.
On June 14, Alderman Rob Reuvers presented the reward certificates to the six winning initiators. This took place at the town hall.
