West Maas en Waal Rewards Initiatives for Liveability and Community Self-Reliance
The College of Mayor and Aldermen of West Maas en Waal rewards six new ideas from residents (or groups of residents), each with a maximum of €750. They receive this one-off contribution because their new ideas improve liveability or community self-reliance.

These activities include:
- SPO de Sprong and Altforst Village Platform
Vegetable Garden & Community Space at De Tweestroom Elementary School - Ms. J. van Oort and neighbors in Appeltern
Christmas gathering or Christmas dinner at home to combat loneliness - Alphen Orange Committee
Wish Tree for Alphen - BU Studio, Beneden-Leeuwen
Organization and execution of 3 small events designed to bring people together and build community - Dreumel Care Working Group
Organization and hosting of meetings focused on mutual support - The "Looking Out for One Another" (ONE) Working Group of the Leefbaar Alpen Gelderland Foundation
Establishing a platform and organizing activities that encourage social interaction and promote and support the ability to ask for and receive help
Alderman Reuvers: “Once again this year, we received wonderful proposals from both large and small towns. This shows that residents and organizations are truly committed to their communities and want to do their part to strengthen them.”
On April 20, Alderman Reuvers presented the award certificates to the winning organizers. The ceremony took place at City Hall.
