West Maas en Waal Rewards Initiatives for Liveability and Community Self-Reliance

The Mayor and Aldermen of West Maas en Waal are rewarding eight new ideas from residents (or resident groups), each with a maximum of € 750. They receive this one-time contribution because their new ideas improve liveability or self-reliance within the community.
These activities include:
- Yibba and the growers from Maas en Waal
Cherry picking day with special attention for families with children and residential groups in West Maas en Waal; - BLEND Wamel Foundation
Design and implementation of a gnome trail; - Leefbaar Alphen Foundation:
Discussion Café at De Hucht Community Center in collaboration with the Rivierengebied Center for Life Questions; - Maasbommel Culture, Sports, and Recreation Foundation:
Maasbommel Christmas Market organized Maasbommel working groups; - Hanzestad Maasbommel Village Platform Foundation Maasbommel working group)
Bike tours and creative activities; - Appeltern Village Platform
Hosting theAppeltern; - Tweestromenland Museum in Beneden-Leeuwen
An inclusive evening with “new Dutch women”; - Zonnebloem BBAA Branch;
Guided tour and lunch at the Tweestromenland Museum for members of the Zonnebloem Association together with single migrants.
The municipality is pleased to see an increasing number of applications. Alderman Reuvers: “In addition to the wonderful annual events, it’s great that we can use these quality-of-life grants to support new or one-time initiatives.”
Alderman On March 28,Alderman Reuvers presented the award certificates to the winning organizers. The ceremony took place at City Hall.
Applications for 2025
Starting this fall, you can also apply for one-time grants for one-off initiatives for 2025. Applications can be submitted via www.westmaasenwaal.nl/SamenBeter. The website also provides more information about the application process and the Requirements.
