Appeltern Water Park
During heavy rainfall, water often remains on the streets in Appeltern. There is also little greenery in the village that can absorb water. This heavy rainfall can therefore lead to water damage. We want to prevent this. That is why, in the coming years, we will be diverting rainwater to places where it will not cause any harm.
Small park on Van Rechteren Street
On the northern edge of Appeltern lies a plot of land owned by the municipality. We will store rainwater on part of this plot. There will also be opportunities for walking.
Open house
On November 10, we held an open house at De Schuur, Kerkstraat 25 in Appeltern. Visitors could watch a video about the water park and there was plenty of time to ask questions. The drawing of the water park can be found at the bottom of this page among the downloadable files.
Next steps
We are continuing to develop the plans and will be looking for a contractor in the middle of next year.
We plan to plant the trees around November 2026. Construction of the park will start in early 2027.
