Certify a copy or transcript
What is it?
The municipality can issue a certified copy of certain documents, such as your passport or driver’s license. By certifying the copy, the official confirms that it is an exact replica of the original.
You may need a certified copy or a certified transcript for:
- formal transactions, such as buying a house
- situations in which you do not want to hand over the original document, such as when providing a copy of an ID
Please note
The municipality does not certify copies of diplomas and certificates. For this, please contact the educational institution where you obtained the diploma or certificate. The municipality also does not certify documents of a religious nature.
What should I do?
To have a copy certified, you must visit the municipal office in person.
