Volunteer work, mentoring

What is it?

Volunteer work is work you don't get paid for. If you can find the time to help others, you can volunteer.

If you are (long-term) unemployed, you may be eligible for social activation. This means you can do volunteer work while continuing to receive benefits.

How does it work?

There is a foundation that can assist (prospective) volunteers within the municipality: Stichting Sociom. This foundation operates—on behalf of the municipality—a volunteer support center with a job board.

The Sociom Foundation has experience and expertise in the field of volunteer work and is also organized locally, which means it has already built up a network.

What should I do?

If you’re interested in volunteering but aren’t sure what to do or how to get started, the Volunteer Center can help you. You can also contact the center with any other questions you may have.

If you would like to sign up as a volunteer at , you can do so through the volunteer center.
