If so, please contact the volunteers affiliated with the Gelderland Bat Network (), an initiative of the Gelderland Landscape Management Foundation and the Gelderland Bat Working Group (VleGel). A total of 21 different species of bats have been recorded in the Netherlands, 7 of which are regularly observed. All bats in the Netherlands are protected by law.
For some people, these aerial acrobats are fascinating, while for others, bats are a source of fear. Few people realize that bats play an important role in nature. Equally unknown is how these nocturnal animals live and what behaviors they exhibit. The volunteers affiliated with the network can tell you about this and help resolve your issue. Above all, do not try to handle the bat yourself. Volunteers have been trained to handle the situation professionally.
