Transportation within West Maas and Waal

There are a number of travel options for residents of the municipality of West Maas en Waal. These include traveling by Arriva bus, HaltetaxiRRReis, the SLAG minibus, the AutoMobiel project, or using a shared car from O2share. If you have a Wmo transport indication, you may also be able to travel with Versis.

Provincial transportation services

The Arriva and HaltetaxiRRReis transport services are not municipal services. If you have any questions about timetables, reservations, costs, or other matters relating to these transport services, please contact the relevant organization directly.

Arriva

  • Regular buses: Bus services 42 and 165 run through West Maas en Waal. You can plan your journey atArriva.
  • Call bus: Arriva's call bus (line 265) runs in the evenings and at weekends. You must book your journey at least one hour in advance by calling 0900 1961. The dial-a-bus runs from stop to stop and uses a number of stops from the former neighborhood bus. The dial-a-bus runs from Beneden-Leeuwen to Dreumel and passes through Altforst, Appeltern, Maasbommel, and Alphen. There are two stops in Appeltern.

HaltetaxiRRReis Gelderland

HaltetaxiRRReis is a shared taxi service that can be ordered and operates flexibly from stop to stop. The Haltetaxi connects well with buses and trains. You can travel with HaltetaxiRRReis if there is no other public transport in the area, or if traveling with the Haltetaxi will save you time. You can use the RRReis Travel Planner to find out if this is the case for your journey.

Car sharing in Maas and Waal

Shared cars can be found in Appeltern, Beneden-Leeuwen, and Maasbommel. A shared car is a car that is located on site. You can reserve the car when you need it. You then pay per hour or per kilometer driven.

SLAG van (Alphen)

The SLAG minibus is operated by the village platform Stichting Leefbaar Alphen Gelderland (SLAG) to provide transport for residents. Volunteers drive the minibus within the Den Bosch - Nijmegen - Oss - Tiel area. Reservations can be made, preferably 24 hours in advance, by calling 06 1294 5756.

Volunteer transportation via Sociom

Sociom volunteers can help you find solutions when you are unable to go anywhere yourself. For example, they can help you find a companion who can accompany you to the hospital, visit family, or participate in an activity in the neighborhood. Together, you can determine what works best in your situation and what kind of support you need.

Wmo transport

Versis is the provider of Wmo transport in the municipality of West Maas en Waal. To use Wmo transport, you need a Wmo indication. You can contact VraagWijzer West Maas en Waal for this.

Versis (Wmo transport)

Versis is the supplementary transport service in Rivierenland. Anyone with a Wmo transport indication can travel with Versis. This is possible every working day between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. and on weekends between 9:00 a.m. and midnight. 

Versis offers door-to-door, door-to-stop, or stop-to-stop transportation. Book your ride well in advance by calling 088 1235 757. You can also book your ride online at .

Versis charges a boarding fee and a mileage fee. There are costs for regular travelers and for travelers with a specific destination. All information about the costs for travelers can be found on the Versis website.
