What is it?

If you want to sell goods or services on the street or door-to-door, you may only do so if the municipality permits it. You may need to apply for a permit for this.

How does it work?

With a vendor's license, you may sell your goods or services in public places such as public roads, public waterways, or door-to-door.

Street vending means that you sell your goods in different locations, rather than at a fixed location. Examples of street vendors are ice cream sellers or greengrocers with a mobile cart. The following cases are not considered street vending:

  • You distribute written or printed material within the framework of freedom of expression.
  • You are a retailer and you deliver goods to a buyer's home.
  • You sell your goods from a fixed location or at a market. In that case, you need a market place permit or a location permit.

What should I do?

You can report this as follows: Send an email to info@westmaasenwaal.nl. In the email, please state:

  • which goods or services you want to sell;
  • where and when you want to do this.

You must give notice at least two weeks in advance.

Check with the municipality to see if you are allowed to sell goods on the street and where and when you can do so. You will then immediately find out whether you need to apply for a permit.
