Selling
What is it?
If you wish to sell goods or services on the street or door-to-door, you may only do so if the municipality permits it. You may need to apply for a permit to do so.
How does it work?
With a street vending permit, you may sell your goods or services in public places such as public roads, along public waterways, or door-to-door.
Street vending means selling your goods in different locations. In other words, not from a fixed location. Examples of street vendors include ice cream vendors or greengrocers with mobile carts. The following situations are not considered street vending:
- You are distributing written or printed materials in the exercise of your right to freedom of speech.
- You are a retailer and you deliver goods to a buyer's home.
- If you sell your goods from a fixed location or at a market, you will need a market vendor permit or a fixed-location permit.
What should I do?
To report an issue, please follow these steps: Send an email to info@westmaasenwaal.nl. In your email, please include the following:
- what goods or services you want to sell;
- wherever and whenever you want to do this.
You must give notice at least two weeks in advance.
Check with the city to see if you are allowed to sell goods on the street, and where and when you may do so. They will let you know right away if you need to apply for a permit.
