I am stronger
Falls are particularly common among people over the age of 65.
Many people think that this is just part of life, but that is not the case. Falling is not a normal part of aging, and the risk of falling can often be reduced. By staying active and exercising regularly, you can do a lot to prevent falls yourself. Would you like to know what activities are available in your area? Visit www.meedoeninmaasenwaal.nl.
Has moving become more difficult, or are you afraid of falling? In West Maas en Waal, there are special training programs for residents aged 65 and older who are at increased risk of falling. These training programs help you become stronger, improve your balance, and move with more confidence again.
Recognize your own risk of falling
Are you perhaps in the risk group? Answer the following questions:
- Do you have difficulty walking or maintaining your balance?
- Are you afraid of falling?
- Have you fallen in the past year?
Did you answer 'yes' to one or more of these questions?
You are at increased risk of falling. Fall prevention training can help you reduce this risk.
