Are you interested in traffic and transportation? And would you like to help improve accessibility in the beautiful West Maas en Waal region? Then be sure to read on! The Public Space Management Team is looking for a Mobility Advisor for 32–36 hours per week.

What are you going to do?

You’ll dive right into projects such as public transportation, bicycle infrastructure, traffic management, and sustainable mobility initiatives. This is very important, because these projects have a direct impact on the daily lives of our residents. You’ll also answer all questions about traffic and traffic safety, explaining things in a way that everyone can understand. As an enthusiastic mobility advisor, you’ll feel right at home in an informal and hands-on organization. You’ll work closely with colleagues both internally and throughout the region. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing advice on projects and permits;
  • Drafting policies and proposals;
  • Analyzing mobility data;
  • Keeping abreast of trends and new technologies in the field of mobility and providing advice on them;
  • Consulting with, for example, local and regional governments, transportation companies, and civil society organizations;
  • Manage and report on your budgets.

What do we expect from you?

  • You must have at least a completed higher professional education (HBO) degree and several years of demonstrable experience at this level;
  • You are an eager-to-learn and enthusiastic colleague who sees teamwork as a given. You work in a structured manner and are results-oriented;
  • You have a good sense of political and administrative dynamics (or the potential to develop one);
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Experience in a similar position at a municipality is a plus;
  • You have a healthy sense of humor;
  • You can submit a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG).

What do we offer you? 

  • A salary of up to €5,624 (scale 10) for a 36-hour workweek. The salary depends on your education and experience;
  • A one-year employment contract. If your performance is satisfactory, we will convert this to a permanent contract;
  • A monthly supplement of 17.05% of your gross salary: the Individual Choice Budget (ICB). You can use this for things like extra pay, vacation time, or a new bicycle.
  • You can work partly from home and will be provided with a phone and laptop;
  • Commuting expenses and a work-from-home allowance;
  • A wellness allowance of €500 gross per year (based on a 36-hour workweek). For example, for a gym membership, sportswear, or a visit to the sauna;
  • Your daily serving of fruit;
  • Ample free parking for your car and bicycle;
  • A friendly and informal work environment. Your colleagues will welcome you with open arms and make sure you feel at home right away;
  • What to do during your break? Plenty! Take a walk along the beautiful dyke, go shopping in our charming town center, or grab a sandwich at the bakery around the corner—it’s all within walking distance.
