Installing a patio
What is it?
- You need a permit if you want to set up a patio at your restaurant or bar. This applies even if you set up the patio on your own property.
- You must also apply for a permit if you want to install a flower box or street furniture.
If you want to install screens, roofs, or decking on your patio, you may need to apply for a separate environmental permit.
What should I do?
You must apply for the permit from the municipality. Include the following information in your application:
- your company's name and address
- the dimensions of your patio (with a drawing)
How long does it take?
You will be notified within 8 weeks whether your permit has been approved.
File an objection
If you disagree with the municipality’s decision, please file an appeal within 6 weeks.
