Installing a patio
What is it?
- You need a permit if you want to set up a terrace at your hospitality business. This also applies if you set up the terrace on your own property.
- You must also apply for a permit if you wish to place a flower box or street furniture.
If you want to install screens, roofs, or decking on your terrace, you may need to apply for a separate environmental permit.
What should I do?
You apply for the permit from the municipality. Include the following information in your application:
- name and address of your company
- the dimensions of your terrace (with drawing)
How long will it take?
You will receive notification within 8 weeks as to whether you will be granted the permit.
Lodge an objection
If you disagree with the municipality's decision, you must lodge an objection within six weeks.
