Grant for Masterpieces: Expedition on the Meuse
In recent years, volunteers from the “Expedition on the Meuse” ( , or EODM) have made remarkable archaeological discoveries along the Meuse River. They have unearthed ships dating back to the Middle Ages. The dredging operation also brought to light many artifacts from the Roman era. These artifacts tell a unique story about our region.
EODM is collaborating with Museum Tweestromenland on an exhibition. You will soon be able to admire the highlights at the museum. The collection includes unique weapons from the Roman era and historical tools.
On Tuesday, September 8, the executive board West Maas en Waal a grant to EODM for the restoration and the exhibition. The municipality, together with Nederzand Projectmanagement BV, is funding the restoration of several masterpieces.
