Structural Expansion of the Beneden-Leeuwen Child Care Center

The Municipal Executive has decided to support the implementation of the permanent expansion of the Beneden-Leeuwen Child Center. 

Expansion of the Beneden-Leeuwen Child Care Center

Projections for student enrollment over the next 15 years indicate that space constraints at the Kindcentrum will continue to increase. The area between Van Heemstraweg and the Pax Junior/Kindcentrum offers the opportunity for a future-proof expansion of the Kindcentrum Beneden-Leeuwen. The 1,600-square-meter expansion will be housed in a two-story building.

In addition, changes will be made to public spaces to facilitate this structural expansion. Residents will be informed about this in due course.

Zoning Plan Amendment

The expansion is planned for the area between Van Heemstraweg and the Pax Junior/Kindcentrum. Due to this expansion, the zoning plan must be amended. The zoning plan is currently available for public review at City Hall.
