Genealogical research

What is it?

You can discover your family history by researching your family tree. You will need various pieces of information to do this. Much of the information about family ties, surnames, and relocations can be found on the internet. For example, at the Central Bureau for Genealogy and on the WieWasWie website.

The municipal archives contain baptism, marriage, and burial records, as well as other sources that you can consult. Are you looking for this information? If so, please make an appointment with the municipality by telephone. You will then be able to view the public records.

The archives covering the period from 1810 to 1983 for the former municipalities of Appeltern (including Altforst, Alphen, and Maasbommel), Wamel (including Leeuwen), and Dreumel are stored at the Nijmegen Regional Archives and can be consulted digitally. You can also visit the Regional Archives.
