Eight years of collaboration

In West Maas en Waal, Sociom performs various tasks in the field of health, welfare, and prevention. These include youth work, the volunteer support center, informal care support, activities within a Dementia-Friendly municipality, fall prevention, and refugee work.

“We look back with a sense of satisfaction on our collaboration with the municipality, partners, volunteers, and residents. After eight years of involvement in the municipality, it was not an easy decision not to renew the contract, but this decision gives us the flexibility to focus entirely on the Land van Cuijk area and the MooiMaasvallei region,” said Roland van der Heijden, director of Sociom.

Focus on Land van Cuijk

The current multi-year contract expires at the end of this year. Sociom has used this opportunity to discuss how the organization intends to position itself in the future. With nearly 93,000 residents and many new developments in the social sector, the municipality of Land van Cuijk requires extra attention. Sociom has decided to focus entirely on this.

West Maas en Waal works on the continuity of welfare work

In recent years, they have been able to support many residents and establish a strong social foundation. We will continue our efforts in the coming period to ensure the proper continuation of welfare work in our municipality, so that residents can continue to count on appropriate support,” says Alderman Rob Reuvers.

A smooth transition

Sociom and the municipality are working together to ensure a smooth transition of social services. The organization will continue to carry out all its activities until December 31, 2026. Residents will be informed in a timely manner about the next steps, so that they always have someone to turn to with questions.
