Sociom has decided to West Maas en Waal its activities as a social work organization within the municipality West Maas en Waal . The current contract will expire on January 1, 2027. Until then, Sociom will continue to provide social services. The municipality is committed to ensuring that social services continue to be provided effectively in the future.
Eight years of collaboration
Sociom carries out West Maas en Waal tasks in West Maas en Waal in the areas of health, well-being, and prevention. These include youth work, the volunteer support center, support for informal caregivers, activities related to the “Dementia-Friendly Municipality” initiative, fall prevention, and refugee services.
“We look back with a sense of satisfaction on our collaboration with the municipality, partners, volunteers, and residents. After eight years of involvement in the municipality, it was not an easy decision not to renew the contract, but this decision gives us the flexibility to focus entirely on the Land van Cuijk area and the MooiMaasvallei region,” said Roland van der Heijden, director of Sociom.

The current multi-year contract expires at the end of this year. Sociom has used this opportunity to discuss how the organization intends to position itself in the future. With nearly 93,000 residents and many new developments in the social sector, the municipality of Land van Cuijk requires extra attention. Sociom has decided to focus entirely on this.
