SMI

What is it?

Social Medical Indication for childcare is a scheme for parents who need childcare due to urgent medical and/or social reasons. Professionals involved with the family can confirm that there is a high need for childcare and support the application.

Condition: you are (temporarily) not entitled to childcare allowance from the Tax and Customs Administration.

How does it work?

You want to make use of Social Medical Indication for childcare because you are temporarily unable to care for your child. You have already had an interview with VraagWijzer.

You are now going to complete part 2 of the application. All requested information must be submitted and/or added. This will prevent delays in processing the application.

Please note: Check with the childcare organization to see if there is a waiting list.

Please send the following documents as attachments:

  • Income details for you and your partner, if applicable (e.g., a recent pay slip or bank statement)
  • Childcare contract or quote (ask the childcare organization about a possible waiting list)
  • VraagWijzer's explanation of your application (you will receive this following your meeting with VraagWijzer)
