School social work
What is it?
Every school has a "care and advice team," or ZAT. This is also referred to as school social work. In these care and advice teams, professionals work together with schools to solve problems faced by children and young people.
Professional care team
The professionals in the care and advisory team include the school social worker, the truancy officer, and the remedial educationalist. Of course, good cooperation with VraagWijzer West Maas en Waal is also necessary. Everyone works together as effectively as possible to provide students with complex care needs with appropriate help as quickly as possible.
How does it work?
Troubleshooting
Some students, for example, have behavioral, developmental, or learning problems. By identifying and resolving these problems in a timely manner, a ZAT can ensure that a student is back on track at school as quickly as possible. Parents are also involved in the support process as much as possible.
The purpose of ZAT
Of course, it is important to prevent truancy and school dropouts. The ultimate goal is to ensure that students complete their schooling in a positive manner and thus obtain their diploma or basic qualification on time.
