School Social Work

What is it?

Every school has a “care and advisory team,” or ZAT. This is also known as school social work. In these care and advisory teams, professionals work together with schools to resolve issues faced by children and young people.

Professional care team

The professionals in the care and advice team include, for example, the school social worker, the truancy officer, and the educational psychologist. How does it work?

Troubleshooting

For example, some students have behavioral, developmental, or learning difficulties. By identifying and addressing these issues early on, a ZAT can ensure that a student gets back on track at school as quickly as possible. Parents are also involved in the support process as much as possible.

The purpose of ZAT

Of course, it’s important to prevent truancy and school dropout. The ultimate goal is to ensure that students have a positive and fulfilling school experience and, as a result, graduate on time or earn their basic qualification.
