Driver's license, with restrictions
What is it?
Your driving privileges may be restricted for various reasons, such as an accident or illness. In that case, you will need to apply for a new driver's license that reflects the restriction. You will then receive a driver's license with restrictive provisions. A restrictive provision could be that you are no longer allowed to drive any vehicle, or that you are only allowed to drive a modified vehicle.
The costs for a driver's license are:
- A driver's license costs€53.65.
Do you need to apply for a driver's license urgently? Then you will pay a surcharge of€39.65.
How does it work?
To apply for a driver's license with restrictive provisions, you will need:
- your valid proof of identity
- your old driver's license
- a good-looking passport photo that
- is no older than 6 months at the time of application and
- meets the passport photo requirements
- the declaration of invalidity or declaration of suitability
- sufficient funds (you must pay for your driver's license when you apply; you can pay in cash or with your debit card)
Term
You can collect your new driver's license after five working days. Do you need your driver's license sooner? It is possible to apply for a driver's license urgently. If you apply for your driver's license before 2 p.m., you can usually collect it the next working day.
You have three months to collect your driver's license.
