Installing a propane tank

Due to high energy prices, propane tanks are increasingly being installed at residential properties. For safety reasons, both businesses and individuals are required to file a report. We can then verify whether you meet the safety and distance requirements. If you do not meet these requirements, we will provide guidance on how to use the propane tank safely. So, if you’re planning to use a propane tank at your home, be sure to file a report!

How do you file a report?

  • You must submit a notification (Activities Decree) at least 4 weeks in advance.
  • The best way to do this is through the Omgevingsloket
  • Please submit a site plan (to scale) showing the propane tank (with contents), the refueling area, any buildings within 25 meters, and the distances between them.

The supplier or the person installing the propane tank usually knows how to file a complete report. They can often do this for you as well.

What happens to your report?

The Rivierenland Environmental Agency (ODR) will review the report. If there are any questions or uncertainties, the ODR will contact you.

Do you have any questions? Please feel free to call the ODR at 0344 579 314.
