Test pits for archaeological research in Maasbommel

This is an old message.

The Meandering Maas project will conduct archaeological research in the floodplains of Maasbommel in August.

In the fourteenth or fifteenth century, there was a house here surrounded by a moat. Test trenches are being dug and research is being carried out. This will take about eight weeks. The test trenches will be filled in again after the research has been completed.

More information can be found on the Meanderende Maas website.
