Polder beachcombers collect 300 kilograms of litter
Last Saturday, for the second year in a row, the polder beachcombers (formerly Maas and Waal beachcombers) cleaned up the inland area of the municipality of West Maas en Waal. On this sunny day, 13 associations collected no less than 300 kilograms of litter.

Working together for a clean municipality
Armed with grabbers and trash bags, the associations set out to clean up various areas in the municipality. For example, along the dike in Boven-Leeuwen, around De Meren Nature Reserve in Dreumel, and along the Munsedijk in Appeltern.
Alderman Evert Jan Slootweg is proud of the dedication of the enthusiastic volunteers:
“It's great to see how residents are helping to make the environment cleaner. Together we can make a difference.”
The campaign not only contributes to a clean environment, but also raises awareness about litter.
