Polder clean-up volunteers wanted: together for a clean West Maas en Waal
This year, the polderjutters will again be active in the municipality of West Maas en Waal. Twice a year, local associations and social organizations roll up their sleeves. They clean up litter in neighborhoods and polders. In doing so, they earn a nice amount for their club funds. They also make a valuable contribution to a clean and healthy living environment.

Spring and Fall Cleaning
The polder cleanup will take place on Saturday, April 11, and Saturday, October 3. These are the best times to pick up litter. In early spring, the vegetation is low, and in the fall, the water level hasn’t risen too high yet. This makes it possible to clean up the litter effectively and safely.
Clubs Wanted
The municipality is looking for organizations that would like to participate on both days. In return for their efforts, they will receive a stipend of at least €400. The final amount depends on the size of the area being cleaned.
The term “organization” also includes community organizations. Organizations that have not participated before will be given priority. In this way, the municipality aims to give more organizations the opportunity to contribute to this wonderful initiative.
Alderman Jan Slootweg: “With the polder cleanup, we’re killing two birds with one stone: together, we’re keeping our natural areas clean and supporting our community organizations. It’s wonderful to see how dedicated these organizations are to their local environment. I therefore warmly encourage all organizations to join in.”
