Plein 2020 in Appeltern: new construction begins

Mecus Planontwikkeling and the municipality of West Maas en Waal recently signed an agreement for the realization of the Plein 2020 new-build project in Appeltern.

Plans have long been in place to build homes in Appeltern on Van der Capellenstraat and Pastoor Willemsplein. Last year, a feasible plan was drawn up. The project has therefore been named 'Plein 2020'.
Alderman Cruijsen: "It's great that we can take the next step in this long-term project. Plein 2020 is a wonderful plan for Appeltern. I hope that the new residents will enjoy living here."

Homes will be built for various target groups. There will be options for first-time buyers, seniors, and everyone in between. The project focuses on six terraced and corner houses, three senior/flexible homes, two semi-detached houses, and one detached house. The square, which is currently mainly used for parking, will be transformed into an attractive and green meeting place.

All homes in this project have now been sold. Preparatory work will start in March 2021, followed by the construction of the homes.
