Plein 2020 in Appeltern: construction begins

Mecus Planontwikkeling and the municipality of West Maas en Waal recently signed an agreement for the realization of the new construction plan Plein 2020 in Appeltern.

Plans to build Appeltern on Van der Capellenstraat and Pastoor Willemsplein in Appeltern have been in the works for quite some time. Last year, a feasible plan was finalized. The project has therefore been named “Plein 2020.”
Alderman : “It’s great that we can take the next step in this long-term project. Plein 2020 is a wonderful plan for Appeltern. I hope the new residents will enjoy living here.”

Housing will be built for a variety of target groups. Options are available for first-time homebuyers, seniors, and everyone in between. The project includes 6 row houses and corner houses, 3 senior/flexible-living units, 2 semi-detached houses, and 1 detached house. The plaza, which is currently used primarily for parking, will be transformed into an attractive, green gathering place.

All homes in this project have now been sold. Preparatory work will begin in March 2021, followed by the construction of the homes.
