Separating PDB waste is becoming easier
Since January 1, the rules for separating PDB waste have changed. PDB is waste from plastic packaging, drink cartons, and cans. More types of packaging can now be included in PDB. This makes waste separation easier for residents in the Avri region.

What has changed?
From January 1, almost all plastic and metal packaging waste can be disposed of at the recycling center. This includes all beverage cartons
. If it is packaging, comes from your home, and is empty, then it can be disposed of at the recycling center.
This is now also permitted with the pdb:
- Plastic or aluminum coffee capsules (do not need to be completely empty).
- Empty aerosol cans of deodorant, hairspray, or whipped cream—but no gas cylinders or nitrous oxide cylinders.
- Combination packaging such as chip bags, soup bags, and meat packaging.
- Large plastic sheets, for example to cover furniture or appliances.
- Transparent or semi-transparent bags, as long as the contents are visible.
Helpful tip: 3 times yes? Then it can go in the pdb waste!
- Is it plastic packaging, metal packaging, or a beverage carton?
- Is it from the household?
- Is it empty?
Detailed information about what is and is not allowed in the pdb can be found at avri.nl/pdb and in the waste guide in the Avri app and on the Avri website.
