Sorting PDB waste is getting easier

As of January 1, the rules for sorting PDB waste have changed. PDB refers to waste from plastic packaging, beverage cartons, and cans. More types of packaging can now be included in the PDB stream. This makes waste sorting easier for residents in the Avri region.

What has changed?

Starting January 1, almost all plastic and metal packaging waste can be placed in the pdb. This includes all beverage cartons
. Is it packaging, does it come from your home, and is it empty? Then you can put it in the pdb.

This is now also allowed in the PDB:

  • Plastic or aluminum coffee capsules (they don't have to be completely empty).
  • Empty aerosol cans of deodorant, hairspray, or whipped cream—but no gas cylinders or nitrous oxide cylinders.
  • Combination packaging such as potato chip bags, soup pouches, and cold cut packaging.
  • Large plastic sheets, such as those used to wrap furniture or appliances.
  • Transparent or semi-transparent bags, as long as the contents are visible.

Helpful tip: Three "yes" answers? Then it goes in the paper waste!

  1. Is it plastic, metal, or a beverage carton?
  2. Is it from the household?
  3. Is it empty?
