Parking of large vehicles
What is it?
Parking large vehicles on the road is permitted between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. It is not permitted between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.
Would you still like to park a large vehicle on the road? Then you can apply for an exemption from the municipality. The municipality does not grant exemptions for parking in residential areas.
How does it work?
You need a parking permit in the following cases:
- your vehicle is longer than 6 meters or higher than 2.4 meters
- you want to park on Monday to Friday between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. or on weekends
Please note
If you have a motorhome, caravan, or camper van that is longer than 6 meters or higher than 2.4 meters, you may park it on the road for a maximum of 3 days. You do not need to apply for an exemption for this.
What should I do?
You can apply for the exemption at the municipality. Please provide the following information:
- your name and address
- your vehicle details
- the street where you want to park the vehicle
- date and time you wish to park the vehicle
- why you want to park your large vehicle on the road
How long will it take?
You will receive notification within 8 weeks as to whether you will be granted the exemption.
Lodge an objection
Do you disagree with the municipality's decision? If so, you can lodge an objection within six weeks.
