Exhumation and reburial or cremation
What is it?
You wish to have a deceased person reburied elsewhere or cremated after all. To do so, you need to have the deceased exhumed. This is only possible if you:
- have permission from the person(s) entitled to the grave
- have a permit from the municipality
What should I do?
- You must apply for the permit from the municipality. You can do this either within 2 months of the funeral or at least 10 years later.
- You can also have a funeral director handle this for you.
