Maas and Waal Open Monument Day is happening: Will you join us?

On September 12 and 13, Open Monument Day will take place for the 40th time. This special anniversary will also be celebrated in Maas en Waal. It gives monument owners and managers the opportunity to highlight the region’s historical and cultural heritage.

Anniversary Edition in Maas en Waal

For forty years, Open Monument Day has been one of the Netherlands’ largest cultural events. This year, visitors to Maas en Waal can once again discover and experience unique monuments.

Owners and managers of historic sites whose contact information is on file have received an invitation to open their sites to the public on September 12 and/or 13.

Didn't receive an invitation?

It is possible that not all contact information is available. For this reason, the organization is calling on monument owners and managers to contact them directly if they have not received an invitation but would like to participate.

Would you like to open your historic site to the public during Open Monument Day? Or would you like to receive more information first? If so, please send an email to openmonumentendagmaasenwaal@gmail.com

Help with the organization is welcome

Residents who would like to help organize Open Monument Day Maas and Waal are also welcome. They can sign up at openmonumentendagmaasenwaal@gmail.com.

Making Heritage Visible

Open Monument Day gives the unique heritage of Maas and Waal the attention it deserves. The organizers hope to welcome many enthusiastic participants and visitors again this anniversary year, so that the region’s rich history remains visible to current and future generations.
