Entrepreneurs' Fund
A business fund gives business owners a collective opportunity to make their shopping district more attractive and ensures that all business owners in the area contribute to the implementation of the plans. The projects, which are funded by the business fund, are determined by the business owners based on the established goals.
There are three ways to set up an entrepreneurship fund:
- Implementation of the Leiden Model
- The Imposition of Advertising Tax
- The establishment of a BIZ (Business Investment Zone)
The Entrepreneurs' Association Verrassend Leeuwen, together with the Municipality of West Maas en Waal, has investigated the possibilities for the center of Beneden-Leeuwen. It was decided to levy advertising tax in the center of Beneden-Leeuwen starting January 1, 2018.
All business owners in the town center with advertising signage receive a tax assessment at the beginning of each year and pay an amount based on their property tax assessment value. The WOZ value scale can be downloaded below. The total amount goes to the Beneden-Leeuwen Business Fund Foundation Beneden-Leeuwen hereinafter: SOBL) so that they have a larger budget for (new) events, the village concierge, and promotional activities.
