A New Future for the Margrietstraat Site in Dreumel
The Municipality West Maas en Waal for a new future for the site next to the fire station on Margrietstraat in Dreumel. The executive board the mayor and aldermen intends Requirements with Scouting Dreumel on relocating Dreumel this location. The municipality is also exploring whether there is space here for events and a youth meeting place (JOP). The plans are not yet final. First, the municipality will assess whether this is financially and spatially feasible.

With this decision, the municipality is putting into practice the goals set out in the new coalition agreement “Together! 2026–2030,” in which it was agreed to work toward establishing a shared space for scouting and events in Dreumel.
A place for gatherings and activities
The location on Margrietstraat offers opportunities to bring together various functions. This creates a space for scouting, events, and social gatherings. The executive board enthusiastic about the chosen direction.
Alderman van den Boom: “With this decision, we are investing in Dreumel’s quality of life. We are creating space for Scouting, social gatherings, and activities for people of all ages. At the same time, this development offers opportunities for housing construction on the current site of the Scouting center, De Paulus.”
Good news for Scouting Dreumel
Scouting Dreumel in discussions with the municipality for some time now regarding a possible move to a new location. The current clubhouse on De Paulus requires investment and is in need of renovation. The location on Margrietstraat offers a promising solution.

For our organization, this offers the prospect of a future-proof location. We will investigate whether this new location is feasible and suitable."
Opportunities for Housing Construction
Due to the Scouting organization’s relocation, the current site at De Paulus 1 will become available. The municipality wants to investigate whether housing can be built there. The site is promising because it is located in the center of the village and has been designated as a potential residential development site in the Environmental Vision.
Alderman van den Boom: “There is a great need for housing for first-time homebuyers and seniors. Relocating the scouting activities will create space to further explore those possibilities at De Paulus.”
