New construction project 't Bonderveld in Beneden-Leeuwen - almost 50% social housing

Beneden-Leeuwen is getting a new residential area: 't Bonderveld, on the southeast side of Beneden-Leeuwen. On December 18, the municipality of West Maas en Waal, together with developers Van de Klok and Van den Bosch Vastgoed, signed the preliminary agreement for this project.

The plan provides for 63 homes, 31 of which will be social housing. This will significantly increase the social housing stock, in line with the ambitions set out in the Rivierenland Housing Deal.

The addition of social housing is an important priority for the municipality. Alderman Marieke Van den Boom emphasizes the importance of this step:

"With 't Bonderveld, we are taking an important step toward realizing our housing ambitions. Nearly 50% of the homes are social housing. This is a significant boost for affordable housing in our municipality. It is in line with the agreements we have made regionally in the Housing Deal."

 What happens next?
The draft plan is available for inspection for a period of six weeks. This means that the plan is now public and anyone can view the documents. The city council is expected to make a decision on the adoption of the plan in the second quarter of 2026.
