’t Bonderveld New Construction Project in Beneden-Leeuwen nearly 50% affordable housing

Beneden-Leeuwen is getting a new residential area: ’t Bonderveld, on the southeast side of Beneden-Leeuwen. On December 18, the Municipality of West Maas en Waal, together with developers Van de Klok and Van den Bosch Vastgoed, signed the anterior agreement for this project.

The plan calls for 63 housing units, 31 of which will be public housing. This will significantly expand the public housing stock, in line with the goals set out in the Rivierenland Housing Deal.

The addition of public housing is a key priority for the municipality. Alderman Van den Boom emphasizes the importance of this step:

"With ’t Bonderveld, we are taking an important step toward realizing our housing goals. Nearly 50% of the homes are social housing. This represents a significant boost for affordable housing in our municipality. It is in line with the agreements we have made at the regional level as part of the Housing Deal."

 What happens next?
The draft plan is available for public review for a period of 6 weeks. This means that the plan is now public and anyone can view the documents. The municipal council is expected to make a decision on the adoption of the plan municipal council the second quarter of 2026.
