New Construction Project on Kerkstraat – Torsdam in Altforst
Altforst will gain 8 new homes. A new residential building with 4 ground-floor apartments and 4 upper-floor apartments will be built at the corner of Kerkstraat and Torsdam. The municipality of West Maas en Waal and the initiator have made agreements about this.
Opportunities for beginners and seniors
There used to be barns and outbuildings on this site. These have since been demolished. Apartments are now being built on the cleared site. This will eliminate a cluttered area in the village and create a neat entrance to Altforst.
The homes are intended for first-time buyers and seniors. Altforst few apartments in Altforst . This project will increase the supply of housing for people who want to downsize or are looking for their first home.
The design takes into account the village character of Altforst. The site will also feature green spaces, and rainwater will be collected on-site.
Delight over new housing development plan
Alderman van den Boom is pleased with the plan:

Next steps
The draft plan was available for public review for a period of 6 weeks.
The municipal council is expected to make a decision on the adoption of the plan municipal council the second quarter of 2026.
