Sociom will cease operations at the end of 2026

Sociom’s current contract expires on December 31, 2026. Sociom has previously announced that it will discontinue its social services in West Maas en Waal. From that point on, the organization will focus entirely on its activities in the Land van Cuijk.

Mozaïek Welzijn Named Best in Selection

Before the summer break, the “ executive board ” established guidelines for the implementation of social services. Several organizations subsequently submitted grant applications.
Mozaïek Welzijn best met the established selection criteria. Therefore, on October 6, 2026, the executive board decided to award the organization a grant for social services in West Maas en Waal. Mozaïek Welzijn has extensive experience in social services and is active in the municipality of Tiel, among other places.

I am pleased that we are able to secure social services in a short period of time by providing a grant to Mozaïek Welzijn. In doing so, we have carefully followed all the necessary steps and given various organizations the opportunity to compete for the grant. In choosing Mozaïek Welzijn, we’ve selected an experienced partner that aligns well with our ambitions for West Maas en Waal. At the same time, I’d like to thank the volunteers who dedicate themselves to our residents every day. Their commitment and dedication are invaluable. That’s why we believe it’s important that the transition to the new organization proceeds smoothly and that volunteers are fully involved in this process.

A smooth transition

The municipality, Sociom, and Mozaïek Welzijn will be working together over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition. Sociom will continue to carry out all its activities through December 31, 2026.
Mozaïek Welzijn is informing volunteers currently involved in social services and inviting them to an informational meeting. Residents will also receive more information this fall about the changes and the next steps. This way, they’ll know where to turn for questions or support starting in 2027.

Working Together for Well-Being

With the launch of Mozaïek Welzijn, the municipality continues to invest in a robust range of well-being services for its residents. The goal remains the same: to support residents, foster connections, and contribute to a strong and engaged community in West Maas en Waal.
