What is it?
The municipality is committed to addressing child abuse, elder abuse, and domestic violence.
If you are experiencing this or are concerned about someone else, please contact Veilig Thuis at . Veilig Thuis is the counseling and reporting center for abuse and domestic violence.
In an emergency, call 112 immediately.
How does it work?
You can file a report and get advice from Veilig Thuis if you suspect abuse or domestic violence. Veilig Thuis:
- is a hotline for reporting cases or suspicions of abuse or domestic violence
- provides advice and information in cases of suspected abuse or domestic violence
- investigates whether abuse or domestic violence has occurred
- calls for assistance when necessary
- contacts the police or the Child Protection Board
- will let you know what has been done with your report

What should I do?
You can contact Veilig Thuis 24 hours a day (anonymously) by calling the national hotline at 0800-2000.

What is a reporting code?
A reporting protocol outlines in five steps what you should do if you suspect domestic violence or child abuse. Each organization develops its own reporting protocol. A reporting protocol must include the following steps:
- Place the signals in Map.
- Consult with a colleague and, if necessary, with the domestic violence and child abuse counseling and reporting center Veilig Thuis.
- Talk to the parent.
- Assess the domestic violence/child abuse using the assessment framework.
- Make two decisions: (1) Is it necessary to report the situation to Veilig Thuis? (2) Is it also possible to provide or organize assistance?
