Maos and Waols - An evening full of regional dialect and conviviality

This is an old message.

On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, Digi-Taalhuis West Maas en Waal is organizing an evening dedicated to the Maos and Waolse regional language. The meeting will take place at MFA De Rosmolen in Beneden-Leeuwen and will start at 8 p.m. Admission is free.

During this evening, visitors can enjoy a choir singing songs in Maas and Walloon. Rinie van Haren will also recite some of his own poems and read a story in the regional language. In addition, attendees can test their knowledge with a fun regional language quiz.

Alderman Rob Reuvers: "Our dialect is an important part of our culture and history. It connects generations and contributes to our identity. It's wonderful that we organize evenings like this to keep our regional language alive and pass it on to future generations."

The evening is intended for both people who are familiar with the regional language and anyone who would like to learn more about it. It promises to be an enjoyable and informative gathering.
