Decision Designating Dog-Off-Leash Areas and Dog-Restricted Areas

In a designation decision, we have designated areas such as:

  1. dog walking areas where owners are not required to pick up after their dogs
  2. a dog park where owners are required to pick up after their dogs
  3. areas where dogs are prohibited

Dog walking areas where owners are not required to pick up after their dogs

You may let your dog run free in the following dog parks. This is only permitted if your dog responds when you call or whistle.

  • Beneden-Leeuwen:

    • Ringkade
    • Tulip Street
  • Boven-Leeuwen:
    • Groenewoud
  • Dreumel:

    • Wilhelmina Street
  •  Wamel:
    • Grachtstraat
    • Station Street
  • Maasbommel:
    • Dr. Buijsstraat
    • Lucky Path

Dog-off-leash area (where owners are required to pick up after their dogs)

You may let your dog run free in the off-leash area. However, this is only permitted if your dog responds when you call or whistle. And you must always clean up after your dog. 

Beneden-Leeuwen:

  • Playground

Restricted Area

Dogs are not allowed in playgrounds, sandboxes, or play areas.

Cleaning up dog poop

Throughout our municipality, you are required to pick up after your dog. The only exception is designated dog-walking areas. You can dispose of dog waste with your regular trash.
