Local Social Agreement 2018–2021

Parties

Representatives of:

  • Dreumel Business Association
  • Verrassend Leeuwen Business Association
  • De Gouden Ham Business Association
  • Rivierenland Public Works Department
  • West Maas en Waal Workers' Cooperative
  • Municipality of West Maas en Waal
     

Whereas:

  • That all parties (continue to) commit to fostering a more entrepreneurial West Maas en Waal;
  • That the parties cooperate closely with one another in the socioeconomic sphere;
  • That the experiences and results achieved between 2014 and 2017 justify continuing the collaboration.

Agree to the following:

Objectives

  • Improving the business climate in the municipality West Maas en Waal;
  • Increasing employment in the municipality of West Maas en Waal;
  • Reducing the number of people receiving benefits in the municipality West Maas en Waal;
  • Promoting the participation of welfare recipients in society;
  • Combating low literacy.
     

Expected results

In order to achieve the objectives, the parties mentioned in the preamble commit to implementing the West Maas en WaalLocal Social Agreement 2018–2021 West Maas en WaalImplementation Program and the projects listed therein. The parties have the right to propose projects for inclusion that contribute to the achievement of the objectives. 

Parties

  • By signing the “Local Social Agreement 2018-021 West Maas en Waal, West Maas en Waalthey commit to implementing the “Implementation Program for the Local Social Agreement 2018-2021 West Maas en Waal.”
  • Report at least twice a year on the results and outcomes of the activities carried out as part of the “2018–2021 West Maas en WaalLocal Social Agreement Implementation Program West Maas en Waal

Municipality:

  • Does the internal coordinating role with regard to the “Implementation Program for the 2018–2021 West Maas en WaalLocal Social Agreement West Maas en Waal;
  • Will take charge of and coordinate the monitoring of the outcomes, results, progress, and communication related to the “Local Social Agreement 2018–2021 West Maas en Waal;

The business community:

  • Will continuously inform and engage its constituents regarding the “2018–2021 West Maas en WaalLocal Social Agreement Implementation Program West Maas en Waaland the resulting obligations and efforts;
  • Will proactively reach out to its constituents to encourage their participation in the projects listed in the “Implementation Program for the 2018–2021 West Maas en WaalLocal Social Agreement West Maas en Waal;
  • Periodically discusses the progress of the “2018–2021 West Maas en WaalLocal Social Agreement Implementation Program West Maas en Waalwith the municipality and provides input.

Rivierenland Public Works Department

Contributes in accordance with the mandate set forth in the Rivierenland Joint Working Arrangement, focusing on two key areas: 

  • Appropriate employer services will be provided (matching supply and demand in the local labor market);
  • Ensures that candidates from Werkzaak Rivierenland are equipped and guided into the job market.

West Maas en Waal Workers' Cooperative

  • Initiates and develops activities that contribute to the development and/or participation of benefit recipients in society and the labor market.

The parties involved express their intention to make use of project grants, fundraising, and other mechanisms to achieve the intended results.
The parties involved will participate at least twice a year in the meetings of the Social Economic Platform (SEP), where the progress of the “Implementation Program for the 2018–2021 West Maas en WaalLocal Social Agreement West Maas en Waalwill be monitored, assessed, evaluated, and adjusted as necessary.
 

Final Provisions

Each party undertakes to make every effort to implement the “Implementation Program for the 2018–2021 West Maas en WaalLocal Social Agreement.”

The agreement shall enter into force on the date of signature by all parties and shall remain in effect for four years.
