Berth
What is it?
A mooring is a water plot with adjacent land where a houseboat may moor. A mooring is therefore not just any piece of free shore. The municipality determines the locations of the moorings in public waters.
If you want to moor a houseboat or other vessel, you must ask the municipality for permission to use a mooring. You may need to apply for a permit for this.
How does it work?
The municipality determines which locations in public waters are mooring places. It also determines which types of vessels are allowed to moor there and how many places there are. Vessels include houseboats, jetties, and pontoons.
The municipal regulations do not apply if the water is managed by the national government, the province, or the water board. If you do not know who manages the public water, please check with the municipality.
What should I do?
You ask the municipality if you can use a mooring. Provide the following information:
- description of your vessel
- the place where you want to moor your houseboat or vessel
- how long you want to use the berth
How long will it take?
The permit procedure takes a maximum of 13 weeks.
